Welcome to the Gator Amateur Radio Club, GARC, a University of Florida Student Organization. The W4DFU amateur radio station was established in 1934 and represents the Gator Nation internationally on a daily basis, through HF and Echolink We are Radioactive Gators!

The Gator Amateur Radio Club Meetings are usually held the 3rd Tuesday of the month.  Club Radio Station Open Houses/Operating Nights are held the 1st Thursday of the month, as is our Alumni and Friends Echolink Net. Exact dates/location/times and events are posted on the Calendar/Meetings page.

We have earned the Japan Amateur Satellite Association JAMSAT Five Stars Award #14 ! click for full view UF has earned a DX World Distance Record for W4DFU-LU2DPW conversation on satellite AO7.  This contact between the UF club station and Juan in Argentina took place on a satellite launched in 1974.  Click on the graphic for a full view.  Click here for history about this amateur produced satellite with the long life-span. We are SSTV and Digital Mode Active at W4DFU.  Our TS-870S runs Ham Radio Deluxe and DM780 software to brings us these modes...
